Personal Questions Part II

by Ashley

Wow, it’s Sunday already?!  Where did this weekend go?  I would like another three day weekend please!!

Anyway, because today is in fact Sunday, it is time for a Personal Questions post!  I realized I totally forgot about the start of my new little series last Sunday, so I’m getting on with it today.  Again, these are questions I got from Caitlin’s Personal Questions series (so no, I didn’t just pull them out of nowhere).

Describe your morning routine today.

Today is Sunday which means my morning routine is different than other days… My alarm clock went off at about 6:45; I let the dogs outside; started brewing some coffee; let the dogs inside to feed them; ate my “oats in a mug”; drank my coffee; now blogging.  After blogging, my morning will continue with devotions, shower, getting dressed/ready, and going to church.  During the week, I usually have a similar routine except that I get up at 6:30, and I go running or workout somewhere in there as well, and I go to work.

What do you think happens when you die?

I am a Christian, so I believe that my soul will go to be with God in heaven but my physical body will stay here on earth.  I could go way more into depth on this, but I’ll leave it at that.  (If you have questions for me on this, feel free to email me.)

Are you superstitious?

Not at all.  I believe if you have a faith, there should be no reason to be superstitious.  I’m not at all trying to “knock” anyone that is superstitious, but it doesn’t make sense to me for me to be superstitious.

Do people think you are older or younger than you actually are?

Growing up, people always thought I was older than I really was.  Ever since I got into my 20’s, I’ve had many people think I’m younger than I actually am.  It only bothers me if they actually treat me like I’m a lot younger.

Have you ever snooped through someone’s things?  Did you find anything interesting?

To be completely honest, I know I have at least once or twice throughout my life, but I cannot for the life of me remember who’s things or what I found.  It must have not been that interesting or exciting!

Well, there you go…5 more personal Q & A’s for ya.  Look forward to Part III next Sunday!  (I’ll try my best not to forget! 😉 )  Also, if you ever have any questions you’d like answered, feel free to email me with them, and I’ll add them to the list.  Have a great Sunday!

Get to Know Me Part I

by Ashley

How’s everyone’s Sunday going so far?  Nice, relaxing, and lazy I hope!  We had a nice morning at church, attended the volunteer appreciation lunch the youth minister and I put on for our volunteers, did a Costco run (for things I forgot on Friday), and came home to relax.  I started making our weekly menu and grocery list while lying on our bed and totally zonked out!  I napped for at least an hour, and it was wonderful.  I’m not usually one to take naps, but apparently I needed one today.  I probably could have slept for a lot longer too, but Cody came in to wake me up since it was getting later.

Tonight I decided on a “mish mash meal” including a homemade waffle and eggs for Cody and a sweet potato topped with Greek yogurt and brown sugar for me.  (I’m definitely on a sweet potato kick these days!)  I wanted a “lighter” dinner considering we had a bigger lunch than normal consisting of spaghetti, garlic bread, salad, and dessert.

Waffle making is easy with our Waring Double Belgian Waffle Maker.  We got this for our wedding, and it was easily one of our favorite gifts!  I was considering making a waffle for me, but I was craving a sweet potato big time.

I definitely snuck a few bites of Cody’s waffle, but my sweet potato was nonetheless amazing.

Now onto what I really wanted to talk about this evening!  I saw on Tina’s, Caitlin’s, and other blogs that they had personal questions they posted and answered to help their readers get to know them.  I thought this was a great idea.  I decided for the next several weeks, every Sunday I’ll have a “Get to Know Me” post with five different questions about me and my answers to them.  I’m going to start off with the questions Caitlin and Tina used, but I might add some different ones in there too.  Enjoy!

What are you really good at?  What are you really bad at?

What I am really good at: typing fast, organizing, bargain shopping, Super Mario Bros. (LOVE it!), being self disciplined

What I’m really bad at: sitting still, resisting homemade treats, being patient, sales

Have you ever been in a car accident? What happened?

Just a minor one about three months ago.  I was on the freeway going about 55 mph when a service van in front of me swerved over to the right lane and then swerved back in front of me.  I would’ve totally rear ended him if I didn’t merge lanes, so I quickly tried to get over to another lane.  A herst (yes, a herst!  no dead body in it though, thank goodness) merged lanes at the same time I did, and we side swiped each other.  It dented in my back passenger door a bit, but nothing major…just shook me up a bit!

Why did you attend your college?

I went to Azusa Pacific University, a small(er) private Christian college in the L.A. area.  I always dreamed of going to college in California… beach, entertainment, lots of fun…who wouldn’t want to go there??  The Christian roots of it also intrigued me and it had a great athletic training program (which was what I initially wanted to go into).  I changed majors at the end of my freshman year to psychology, which is also a great program there.

How did your parents’ relationship influence you?

My parents divorced when I was not even a year old and remarried when I was somewhere around 2 years old.  Cody and I both come from divorced families, so we made a promise to one another early on that divorce is never going to be an option.  My parents’ relationships with my step parents are very different from one another, but they’ve both taught me that with persistence and dedication you can make it through anything in life.  Both of my sets of parents have been through difficult stuff along the way, and they’re still together today.  I admire that.

What were the three happiest moments of your life?

The three happiest moments of my life: the day I graduated college, the day I got married to Cody, and the day I got to move to Utah to be with Cody forever (we were in a long distance relationship for quite some time…no fun!).

Questions:

  • What are you really good at?  What are you really bad at?
  • Have you ever been in a car accident?  If so, what happened?
  • Why did you attend your college?
  • How did your parents’ relationship influence you?
  • What were the three happiest moments of your life?
